What Is the Certified High Performance Coach Program?
CHPC is a certification in Brendon Burchard's coaching method, the same high performance framework behind his book and the GrowthDay app. The High Performance Institute describes it as the highest-level coaching certification in the world and says it certifies roughly 300 new coaches a year. Those are its own claims.
Registration gets you, according to the official page and checkout:
- Certification Week: four days on a private Zoom, 9am to 3pm Pacific each day.
- The method: the coaching process, session outlines, tools, templates, role plays and best practices.

The sales page also claims "a 9.8 out of 10 client satisfaction". Growth.com, the coaching company that delivers CHPC coaching in partnership with Burchard, publishes 9.7 out of 10 for its sessions. Neither figure is independently audited, and they measure client sessions, not whether certified coaches build a business.

Two things are worth knowing. First, the price has risen: a 2024 review of the program quoted $10,000 in full, and some pages still show that number. Second, the renewal is not optional if you want to keep the title. You must re-attend Certification Week every other year, which the $497 covers, and the fee is charged after year one whether you attend that year or not. Is the CHPC Training Live or Pre-Recorded?
This is the detail most people only discover at checkout. The terms you accept when you pay say, in substance, that the core training is pre-recorded and broadcast live. The stated reason is practical: many Zoom groups run timed role plays in parallel, and a recording keeps every group on the same clock without depending on one person's internet connection for six hours a day.
What is live: the role plays with other new and experienced coaches, which is where the skill is actually practiced, and Burchard himself for question and answer sessions on days 2 and 3. That is a reasonable design for a large cohort. It is also different from what "four days with Brendon Burchard" suggests, and at $15,000 you should know it before you pay, not during Day 1.
How Does the CHPC Refund Policy Work?
It is the strictest refund policy anywhere in the GrowthDay catalog, and it is only visible on the checkout page. Paraphrasing the terms:
- You can ask for a refund only if you attend Day 1 and are unhappy, and you must ask at the end of Day 1, before Day 2 begins.
- Once Day 2 starts, there are no refunds "under any circumstances", because by then you have learned the proprietary method.
- The refund is minus credit card processing fees, and you must return all materials and notes before it is issued.
- All refunds are "at the sole discretion of Brendon Burchard", and decisions are final.
In practice, the decision you make on the evening of Day 1 is the decision about $15,000. Go into Day 1 with a written list of what would make the program worth it to you, and check it honestly before you log off. Attendance rules add a second risk: you must attend all four days to be certified, and missing one means waiting for the next Certification Week.
Is CHPC Accredited, and How Does It Compare With ICF Programs?

The two are not mutually exclusive: some coaches hold an ICF credential and add CHPC for the method and the marketing system. If you plan to sell to corporate buyers, check what they require before choosing.
